Анотація
Стаття присвячена розгляду проблемних питань криміналістичної ха рактеристики як наукової категорії криміналістики та інструментарію пізнавальної діяльності з розкриття та розслідування злочинів. Висвітлю ються думки науковців щодо визначення структури криміналістичної хара ктеристики, доцільності використання даного поняття щодо конкретного злочину, необхідності опрацювання значного масиву матеріалів закінчених кримінальних проваджень для встановлення кореляційних залежностей між елементами криміналістичної характеристики. Визначається місце кримі налістичної характеристики в структурі окремих методик розслідування злочинів.
