Анотація
У статті досліджується історичний досвід виникнення та застосування пробації в Україні та інших країнах світу. На підставі проведеного аналізу ево люції інституту пробації, сформульовані різні концепції розуміння пробації в Україні та світі як: захід кримінально-правового впливу, покарання альтерна тивне позбавленню волі; як система наглядових та соціально-виховних захо дів, виконання певних видів кримінальних покарань, не пов’язаних з позбавлен ням волі, проходження випробування; ресоціалізацію особи у разі успішного подолання кримінального впливу у вигляді пробації. Обгрунтовано власну пе ріодизацію етапів розвинення пробації.
