Abstract
Relevance of the issue considered in the article is the need to determine the boundary age
at which it is advisable to conduct a psychological examination expert. The article identifies the
leading research methods and an approximate content of source data needed to address questions
posed to the expert. The article discusses the specifics of mental functions and formation of
mental structures in early childhood, identified leading research methods and an approximate
content of source data needed to address the issues put before an expert. Stipulated the need for
selection of psychodiagnostic material in accordance with the age of the child.
