Abstract

After the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, russia not only conducts information and psychological operations, spreads fakes and information delusions, but also actively tries to find justifications for its military aggression in front of its own and the world mass media audience. The relevance of the scientific research is determined by the need for textual semantics studies addressing the requests for identification the signs of justification for the russian federation armed aggression against Ukraine which have been actualized within the framework of criminal offenses investigations provided by the Criminal Code of Ukraine. There is a lack of sufficient developments in this research area due to the relative novelty of the criminalization of the action “to justify” and also because of the usage of this concept in the semantic content of “justification of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine”. The reference to this legal term is caused not only by the changes introduced to some legislations of Ukraine regarding the strengthening of criminal liability for the production and distribution of prohibited information products, but also by the urgent need for countering the information sphere intruders. The article deals with the consideration and analysis of the concept of “justification of armed aggression” in terms of linguistic and legal perspectives thus, the separate textual semantics research materials have been analyzed with regard to linguistic signs of justification for the russian federation armed aggression against Ukraine.
