Abstract

The article examines the features of applying remote psychological assessment within forensic psychological examination under conditions of digitalization and limited access to traditional forms of interaction. The research problem lies in the need to ensure scientific validity, reliability, and procedural admissibility of psychological assessment results obtained in a remote format, as well as in the lack of unified methodological approaches to the organization and conduct of such studies in forensic practice. The aim of the study is a comprehensive analysis of the methodological possibilities and limitations of remote psychological assessment, the determination of conditions for its application in forensic psychological examination, and the substantiation of approaches to ensuring the reliability of the obtained results. The methodological basis of the study includes general scientific and special research methods, in particular formal-logical, system-structural, comparative analysis, as well as the method of analysis and generalization of scientific sources and forensic psychological practice. This made it possible to comprehensively examine the psychological and procedural aspects of the application of remote assessment and to determine its place within the system of forensic expert activity. The scientific novelty lies in the systematization of methodological possibilities and limitations of remote psychological assessment within forensic psychological examination, the identification of categories of examinees depending on the appropriateness of using a remote format, as well as in the development of an algorithm for describing the conditions under which such assessment is conducted. The conclusions emphasize that the remote format cannot be considered a universal alternative to face-to-face examination; however, subject to compliance with established procedural, technical, and methodological requirements, it may be used as an admissible tool of psychological assessment in forensic practice.
