Abstract
The article presents the entire spectrum of forensic science through a systematic analysis of its development. It proposes considering methods of criminalistics within a three-tier system.
The author sets out systematic, structural, and activity-based approaches that allow the study of complex objects, phenomena, and processes as a system consisting of a set of interrelated elements. Furthermore, the article outlines proper forensic methods alongside special methods from other sciences that criminalistics has borrowed for research and applied purposes. Finally, information technology is presented as the tool most actively used to meet the goals and objectives of criminalistics.
