Turquoise is a precious stone that has an interesting history, and a deep cultural connection, which makes it an interesting object of research. In connection with the increased demand for this stone, which was not easy to satisfy, fakes began to appear.
Turquoise was imitated and later learned to synthesize, today there are many options for counterfeiting turquoise. This article is written to help diagnose and focus attention on important aspects. When diagnosing stones, all indicators are important, only when studying the provided sample organoleptically and physico-chemically, it is possible to understand the nature of stones and their characteristics, to identify options for improvement.
