Abstract
In this article, the features of Hebrew that may play an important role in forensic handwriting examination are examined: the alphabet, the specific script, gematria, dialects, borrowings from other languages, as well as the psycholinguistic characteristics of Hebrew speakers. Recommendations are provided for experts regarding the specific knowledge and materials required to conduct an investigation where the objects are handwritten records or signatures made in Hebrew. The outlined factors can be useful and should be taken into consideration by experts in order to recognize the patterns underlying the formation of identification characteristics.
