Abstract

In the article was identified the main elements of criminalistics characteristic of illegal logging on the basis of analysis of materials investigation and judicial practice. Detailed information was given about the subject of a criminal assault, methods, traces, of the situation and the individual offender. Illegal logging of timber has conventionally divided into two types depending on what are the purposes of the criminals: the illegal logging of forests, that do local people for their own needs (heating, construction, firewood for sale) and the illegal logging, that do groups of persons in significant amounts with a view to further commercialization. The timber of valuable specious is a typical subject of criminal assault. Criminal actions are also aimed at felling of coniferous trees. It was found that the methods of illegal felling of forests had been completely structural and encompassed the complex of activities for the preparation, commit and concealment of crimes. It was given detailed information for each of the distinguished elements of the method of crime. There were also indicated typical traces of the crime. Particular attention was paid to the characteristics of the offender; it was indicated that the crime for the most part had a group character. The aggregated information was provided about such typical places, time and climatic conditions in which the crimes are committed. It was stated that in the future the content of highlighted elements of the criminalistics characteristic could be expanded depending on the development of law enforcement practice.
