Abstract

In this regard, the problematic aspects of the legal regulation of electroshock devices in Ukraine have been identified and ways to improve the relevant legal norms have been proposed. Based on the results of international research into the legal regulation of electric stun guns, it was determined to classify electric shock devices that can cause serious and fatal bodily harm as non-kinetic weapon. Other devices, depending on the technical parameters and the relevant authorities, are classified as electroshock devices and simulators of electroshock devices. The criteria for assessing the damaging power of electroshock devices and the methods for their assessment have been established.
